What is a Study Set of House Plans?

You've been browsing house plans for what seems like forever and have narrowed it down to your top three. But, how do you choose the best one?

Think of a Study Set as a sample house plan.

Purchasing a Study Set (or two, or three) to help you narrow down your favorite floor plan so you have a better understanding of the layout before investing in your commitment.

You can ask for your home builder to check out the Study Set to make sure it's a good fit for the property, and to determine if any modifications should be made.

However, Study Sets only include one set of floor plans, plus the front elevation. So, while they're great for you and your builder to reference, they cannot be used for construction. In fact, all Study Sets are stamped with the words "Not for Construction" and do not come with the license to build.

Remember, Study Sets are only a reference guide! If you're ready to invest in a floor plan, be sure to purchase the complete Construction Set.
